Chain.

Chain.

There are certain obligations that society has imposed on the individual nowadays. One must be both informed, and oblivious, successful and struggling; achieve the status quo, and yet rebel against it. To create and yet use the creations of others. The paradox that is life has globalized the human race while isolating the species, with the day to day interaction of technology, we now subscribe to entertainment that is exclusive to our homes, communication is done by typing characters into a machine; then publicized  out into the cyberspace. Thought is now questioned, and speaking is now criticized by a simple misunderstanding. Actions from the past come haunting the present, and toils of the future are the achievements of the present. It's a Topsy turvy conundrum  we seem to back people into. The chain which grows each and every day, slowly restricts the migration of so called great species; from natural  disasters  to political taboos. Every one is ready to throw one another under the bus, judgment is no longer a privatized business but a highly lucrative public activity. From a fallen tree, everyone wants to make firewood. It's easier to be on the offense than on the defense. Everyone wants to belong, whether it be with the group who claim purity by wiping all others, or those who claim to support inclusivity except to those who disagree with their ideals. Isolation and being neutral has now become fragrant with ideals of the past, to do nothing is to be part of the problem. To help and fail is seen as the reason as to why the problem is still around. There is no win-win solution-rather there is no break in the chain.  Psychological warfare has come into play with the endless propaganda that is spewed from every orifice  the Internet has, the politics are askew and humanity as pure as it might have been, is now drenched with the vile and blood. We are our own worst enemy - the saying has never been more valid in history than it is now. The chain that hangs within our own beings, our own race- the HUMAN race, has been pulling us under for quite sometime. There is no perfect solution, no utopia, no real compromise; there is only hope that the chain will break. To start anew and reflect on our mistakes, logic, our own sickness that has tarnished any real progress. At the end of the day, we are chained together - if one us us falls, we all go down. There is no them vs us, there is only humanity...humanity and it's chain.
