Surrender.

Fairytales are meant to remain fiction, inside bounded pages on one’s shelves. Romance, a byproduct of Hollywood greed money propped up by beautiful faces. Love, a so-called cocktail of chemical imbalances within the brain, chemistry is proved to be hormones and so-called sensations of the six senses.  Authors and poets have struggled for centuries to explain these imbalances on pages, where artist drive themselves to harm and drink to evoke the sights on canvass. Ordinary people now swipe left and right-on pocket-sized devices created by large global companies that have them hooked on the idea that connection is possible by staring at pictures and falling for prompts. While some of us only resort to these measures for the occasional free meal and quick up charged of sexual interactions. Others are merely drained and left emotionally unavailable by the countless repetitions of the same conversations. Odd rules and habits are picked up to protect the one thing that is at stake. Vulnerability, now becomes a joke- while casual conversation is easy and sparks fizzle out after the first words utter in proximity. An overwhelming sense of disappointment and misery seem to overcome the bloodstream. Leading to a night spent and guilt inducing seclusion. Musicians have made a fortune writing about experiences with this fickle subject, heart ache, heart racing, heartbroken. The mere mortal struggles with such concepts, self-love prompted on campaigns and yet even that is endangered by the endless attacks to ones on reception to the reflection in the morning. Cravings have always encouraged the latest techniques and attempts to find some sort of connection and interactions. But like any cravings ones you had a few too many belly aches, the idea of every trying again lives a bitterness deep within the cavity that is that one organ. Studies proving solitary confinement have altered minds and caused degenerative diseases, poses the question whether the constant attempts to find a flame and failing can cause similar stimulations that can cause similar effects as confinement. Where some act to interact, other experiment and find themselves overwhelmed by the sense of once again failing. Ever the optimist sometimes it's better to keep a gilded cage around, surround oneself by the love of others that can provide the minimal harm. And yet the heart wants it wants.
